Nearly 20% of infertility cases are labeled “unexplained”.
You can imagine or maybe you are living it, that can’t feel very comforting… “unexplained”.
How are you supposed to accept that?
It turns out there are several other explainable reasons for an “unexplained infertility” diagnosis.
An example to take note of: The African naked mole rat.
Hear me out.
If you’re the queen of the naked mole rat colony, you are the only reproducing female (no pressure). But there are other females living with you in the colony. How will you make sure none of them bare any babies? You’ll bully them. Scare them into submission. Stress them the F- out.
By doing this you’ll make sure their hormone levels plummet to decrease testosterone and sperm counts in the males and turn off the ovulatory cycle in the females. This example of the African naked mole rats is from the proceedings of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology’s annual meeting (not some animal text book). This is one piece of “unexplained infertility”.
Animals in captivity don’t breed well.
Much like a vet at a zoo, reproductive endocrinologists help humans breed in captivity. While doctors are successful at helping animals in captivity (and humans in an office) conceive, there’s one important option to consider. We can leave captivity, as the book making babies highlights.
“Turn off the bad news and unpleasant images, learn to laugh more, try to relax when you have the time. In fact, make the time!”
If you’re having trouble getting pregnant, or if you’ve been diagnosed with unexplained infertility please consider wether your body might be getting the impression that you’re unsafe, too under-resourced, and too busy to provide for a baby.
Take a minute to check in with yourself to listen to what you’re feeling + thinking. Recognize the stress in your life. For specific fertility solutions to prime your mind into a more fertile state, snag Prime for Pregnancy now!
One Solution for Unexplained Infertility
Try reversing that message - letting your body know that you are safe, there’s enough to eat, you’ll have the time and energy to nurture a child when they are here, and you’re able to be a loving parent.
The authors of making babies go on to highlight case studies of this “unexplained infertility” reversing and mention they’ve “seen many patients who have come to respect the way their bodies are connected to a larger evolutionary design slow way down and then become moms.”
So, check in with yourself. Is your mind + body receiving the right messages to be able to conceive and carry a baby to full-term? If not, reverse the message. Take care of yourself + your well-being.
With love + gratitude,
Laura
