So, what is Functional Medicine anyway?

Functional Medicine (FM) addresses you as a whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. FM practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their history and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. 

FM coaching focuses on personalized strategies using mind-body techniques, alternative and complementary therapies, and bringing into focus purpose, meaning, optimism, belonging, community, and spiritual connection, which all serve as a necessary foundation for leading a healthy and vibrant life. 

Why is postpartum care so critical?    

The flight attendants are right when they tell us to put our own oxygen mask on before taking care of our child’s. 

The reality is if you don’t take care of your own needs, everyone around you will suffer. The good news is when you do take time for you ...everyone around you benefits by getting the very best YOU.

We'll focus on how you can feel your very best.  I've been right where you are - knowing I have more to share, do, feel, experience, but not sure how to get everything going in the right direction with life's demands. Thankfully I was able to overcome that season of life with the help of mind-body techniques, functional medicine and my support team. I'm dedicated to making sure you have everything you need to never feel "stuck". 

What type of training is involved to become a health coach? 

**Attention! Please be careful when choosing a health professional as there are many weekend training programs and "certifications" out there that aren’t accredited. I recommend you ask for credentials and be sure to ask which program they gained a certification and training. Check to verify if the school is accredited by ICHWC

I'm a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach and a Functional Medicine Certified Health & Wellness Coach. I've completed 12 months of intensive science-based training from IFM's Functional Medicine Coaching Academy in the following areas: food plans (personalized for food sensitivities & health goals), nutrition, energy, stress, sleep, relaxation, exercise, mind-body medicine, immunity, reducing inflammation, hormone imbalance, digestion, detoxification & all that goes in to making changes last so you can benefit from continued success. We call it being wellthier. :)

Think of our journey together as if we  have a mountain to climb with the mission of reaching the top (your personal goals). I'm your guide. I'm not going to climb for you but I'm right there beside you. I steer you to the next safe step, anticipate any obstacles, help you overcome them and I provide all of the tools you'll need to make the journey successful. Together, we'll get you exactly where you want to go, as long as you’re ready to take the next step.

We'll spend the time figuring out what your personal health and wellness goals and challenges are, how they intersect and affect you holistically and help you develop strategies to get you to your optimal vision of health. Whether you want to be more fulfilled, slimmer, reduce stress, find more time in the day, sleep better, feel more energetic, or lower the risk of chronic diseases, we've got this!

I know a lot about pre- & postnatal health and wellness, food plans that work to get the results you're looking for, mind-body techniques to create lasting changes in your quality of life.
