Have you ever asked yourself, “What are my strengths”?
You’ll find the link to the “What Are My strengths quiz” below.
What’s it mean to “discover your strengths”?
I’m not exactly talking about the common attributes that may come to mind when someone asks in an interview, “tell me about your strengths” where you rattle off, “multi-tasker” or “I’m a quick study”.
Your strengths are so very important when it comes to tackling life with less friction + more success.
Discovering strengths is so vital to the coaching process, that each of my clients has two key assignments to complete before our first session, and one of those is the VIA Survey.
If you haven’t heard of the VIA Survey it’s free and will take you about 30 minutes start to finish. You might be surprised in what your strengths are.
“Your character strengths are the qualities that come most naturally to you. Every individual possesses all 24 character strengths in different degrees, giving each person a unique character profile. When you know your strengths, you can improve your life and thrive. Research reveals that people who use their strengths a lot are 18x more likely to be flourishing than those who do not use their strengths.” - VIAcharacter.org
Once you’ve completed the VIA Survey you’ll be given your top 24 strengths. As the coach I pay close attention to the top 5-6 strengths of a client as these 5-6 are called upon during tough transitions, introspection and growth so it’s helpful for both coach and client know what strengths to call upon to make some magic happen. There aren’t any weaknesses in this assessment; only strengths.
My top strengths are Fairness, Humor, Love, Honesty, Gratitude.
